Reaching the grand age of 60 we decided it is time fora new look at life insurance cover. There are numerous companies that provide this service in the uk, but only a handful that do a cheap service for the over 50's!

You need to know exactly what is covered and what loopholes there are because not all Life Insurance Cover is what it seems!

As a couple you can usually get two for the price of one and each partner benefits should the worst happen,if you are single then the beneficiaries should be your family.

You need to read all the information carefully because there are many clauses that prevent the money from being paid out, the most sympathetic companies are recommended by Age Concern. They give an unbiased opinion of the services offered by specialist companies.

Personally I have not taken out any Life Insurance Cover in the last few years because our house is paid for,but for younger people who still have a mortgage and other debts it is essential, a lot of the time you probably would never make a claim, but if you get cover that includes redundancy and severe illness you would most definitely benefit.

It is an expensive commodity which is unfortunately quite essential to have and one that should be considered very carefully. We had an endowment with our mortgage that included life cover that seemed very good when we took it out, but of course we got caught out in the endowment failure a few years ago and did not get back the amount we were expecting. It would be good if Life Insurance Cover included a money back scheme that worked so that you would feel safe and secure. it would be an added bonus to think you could get something back for the amount you pay in.

Life Insurance Cover on the face of it is a good idea,but needs to be viewed cautiously and carefully considered to find the best company and the best deal for you personally,and a deal that best benefits the people you love without complications.
