By the time they died they had paid in thousands. Yet there wasonlya few hundred pounds paid out for each of them not even enough to bury them.

You need to have money to be able to afford life insurance cover. But if you have money you don't need the cover because there will be plenty in the bank anyway.

Its a funny thing life insurance cover .We kind of feel we should have it. We are even emotionally blackmailed by the adverts to protect our loved ones. The pressure is out there to take out insurance because if you don't you are plain selfish and irresponsible. However, some of us may want it but sincerely can't afford it.

Take the quotes ,for example. They start off affordable at a place where the cover isn't really benefiting anyone long term. As soon as you want cover that will benefit you or your loved ones the premiums become unaffordable. Oh well I guess that's business.

But where does that leave me. Do I save for that day in a bank account, I'd probably keep breaking into it, for that much needed holiday or that emergency bill you know the sort of thing.

I could tie it upin anISA and just keep re investing it. Trouble is as we have learned markets fluctuate and savings of all types cannot be guaranteed secure or the best investment.

There is no really foolproof way of guaranteeing enough money at the end of a term any more ,whether that term is a set number of years or a full life term.

No I'm afraid I need to think a little more radical to secure my life. Ideally I need a handsome but very old and rotten rich gentleman to cushion me from the harsh realities of life,. Then I could spend my day helping others and setting up good causes . Instead I am treading this perpetual grindstone worrying about how I can best secure myself and my family.
